Our first "Kids In The Kitchen" event was a huge success. So much so that we are planning to do it again!
The kids made – or helped to make, pizzas, muffins, cakes and ice cream. They also made salads and BBQ and picnic food – (all gluten free of course). We were amazed at how much they ate! They were amazed at how good it all tasted!
Our next Awareness Week "Kids In The Kitchen" event will be in May 2009 when kids will again come free!*
We are also running a "Kids In The Kitchen" holiday in August 2009.
Why Kids Weeks? Well first so that coeliac kids can have a good time with other coeliac kids and that for their holiday here in Jarnac gluten free is the standard and everyone else fits in.
Also because we want youngsters to share our enthusiasm for good food– to find out where their food comes from and to enjoy making and eating it! We have some great ideas for next summer. And all this is part of a weeks holiday!
With several kitchen sessions available during the week, children aged 6 and over can take part. Littler kids can also come free and get to eat the gluten free goodies! We welcome parents too. (In fact we welcome their help).
